Why do people believe blacks only listen to rap music?
For as long as i live i would never understand that. Blacks invented many other musical genres like jazz, blues, and some rock n roll. I happen to be black, and hate rap music. People just assume i like it. Is it, because that's all the media shows?
Most kids in America regardless of race seem to like rap/hip-hop.

Does rap music influence the way youth dress?
How does rap music influence kids going through poverty, opposed to kids that aren't going through poverty?
Does rap music have an influence on wether or not our youth use drugs?
How does rap music influence the way our youth speak?
1. Yes, it does influence the way some people dress.
2. It gives kids going through poverty something to relate to, and it lets them know that the big name rappers who lived the lives they're living haven't forgotten about them (this is only the case for rappers that actually give a damn about their hoods like Busta Rhymes and Nas for ex)
3. It can, but generally no.
4. When some kids hear the way that their favorite rappers talk, they try to mimic it thinking they become cool. Personally, I listen to rap but it doesn't really influence the way I talk at all.
